How to make it

  • To make dough: combine flour, curry powder, salt.
  • Cut in margarine and shortening until it resembles course crumbs.
  • Pour in ice water in to crumbs and mix with hands until pliable dough forms. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and let rest.
  • To make filling: cook beef and onion until done.
  • Stir in flour, curry powder, thyme, salt and pepper. Add in broth.
  • Sprinkle with bread crumbs and combine well.
  • Simmer until broth is reduced.
  • To assemble: sprinkle workspace with flour, roll dough out til about 1/4" flat, cut with round cutter or cut into rectangles til dough is used.
  • Fill each piece leaving edges free.
  • Brush egg mixture onto edges and fold over, crimp with floured fork.
  • Bake for 30 minutes in a 400 degree oven, serve hot.
  • These reheat nicely!
