How to make it

  • Add vegetable oil to a large saucepan
  • sautee onions and garlic on medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly (put about 1/5 of diced onions to side, don't sautee)
  • turn heat to medium low and add jalapenos (put one diced jalapeno on side, don't sautee)
  • sautee for another 4-5 minutes
  • add green beans, tomato can, fresh tomatoes WITH THE JUICES FROM THE CAN!!!!!
  • make sure vegetables are covered with liquids, if not enough liquid, add water in 1/4 cup amounts
  • next add steak
  • stir ingredients together and allow to heat up over medium heat
  • now add the onions and jalapenos that you put aside earlier
  • then add all the spices (more or less, however spicy you want it)
  • cover the stew and allow to cook medium-low to low for 30-40 minutes to allow flavors to mingle
  • serve over white rice and squeeze a lime on top!
  • for the rice:
  • add 1 part rice, 2 parts water to a saucepan
  • add vegetable oil
  • allow to boil
  • turn down to low rolling boil, cover
  • allow to cook for 20-25 minutes
  • check to make sure the rice is consistently soft
  • serve with stew on top
  • enjoy. this dish will have your taste buds kickin.
