Perfect Dusted Pear Cake

- 1 cup unsalted butter shopping list
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 3/4 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar shopping list
- 2 large eggs shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 2-1/2 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon shopping list
- 16 ounce can pear halves packed in syrup well drained and pears chopped (reserve syrup) shopping list
- confectioners' sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 400 then butter a rectangular cake pan well.
- Beat butter until creamy and light then gradually add sugars beating until creamy and smooth.
- Beat in eggs then vanilla.
- Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon together.
- Stir dry ingredients into the butter mixture alternating with 1/2 cup reserved syrup.
- Begin and end with dry ingredients then stir in pears and pour batter into pan.
- Bake 30 minutes then turn cake out onto a rack and allow it to cool completely.
- Dust with confectioners' sugar and serve.
