Simple Split Pea Soup Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 lb. of dried split peas
  • 2 large peeled and diced carrots
  • 1 stalk of diced celery
  • 2 (14.5 oz.) cans of low-fat, low sodium chicken broth
  • 3 c. of water
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions
  1. First you want to rinse through the peas.
  2. Then you can add them to a large pot over medium flame.
  3. Add in the celery, carrots, broth and water.
  4. Let this cook over low lame for around 1-2 hours.
  5. Finally, season to your indivial liking!
  6. Ladle into bowls!

This sounds just like my momma's recipe. I love soups of all kinds. This will be one of my favorites and I'll make it again.
