Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 c. of dried split peas
  • 1 ham bone
  • 1/2 c. of chopped shallots
  • 1/2 c. of chopped carrots
  • fresh celery leaves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp. of salt
  • 1/2 tsp. of granulated garlic
  • 8 c. of water
  • 1/4 tsp. of ground black pepper
  • 1 (8 oz.) package of cream cheese

Directions
  1. Begin by placing split peas, water, the ham bone, shallots, carrts, celery leaves, bay leaf, salt, garlic, and pepper in a large pot.
  2. You want to heat until it almost boil.
  3. Recuce flame to low and cover with a lid for about one and half hour.
  4. Now the peas are tender, remove the ham bone and bay leaf.
  5. Then you dice the meat from the ham bone and put aside.
  6. You will then cut the cream cheese, process in the blender with soup in the blender.
  7. Once this is blended , add back to pot and add ham. Let this heat up completely.
  8. Season as needed and serve.

Not sure how this gets a Vegetarian label when it has a ham bone in it.
