Grannys Divinity
From chocolatemouse 16 years agoIngredients
                    - Granny's Divinity (with nuts opt) shopping list
 - 3 cups of sugar shopping list
 - 1/2 cup water shopping list
 - 1/2 cup white corn syrup 1/8 tsp. salt shopping list
 - 3 egg whites shopping list
 - 1 cup chopped nuts shopping list

How to make it
                    - Combine sugar, water, syrup, and salt over low heat, stirring until dissolved.
 - Boil without stirring to soft crack stage, 260 degrees (go to 260 no matter what stage
 - your candy thermometer calls it). Beat egg whites until stiff; pour syrup over whites,
 - stirring constantly with the mixer. Beat until creamy; add nuts when mixture loses gloss.
 - Drop by teaspoons onto waxed paper (this is where you need help to get them formed).
 - Let candy set and serve. Nuts may be omitted. Be sure to make when the weather is fair.
 - Can also use jell-o to make different flavors, just mix with the syrup before you pour into egg white mixture
 - The mixture will be very hot when you are dropping it onto the waxed paper. Try scooping
 - some with a teaspoon and scrape the mixture off with another teaspoon so you don't burn
 - your fingers. You will have to work fast!
