Colorful Ham Steak Recipe
A ham steak seared in butter and slow cooked with herbs and peppers.

Ingredients
  • Ham steak
  • Green bell pepper
  • Red bell pepper
  • Yellow bell pepper
  • Garlic
  • Chicken stock
  • Parsley
  • Butter
  • Lemon

Directions
  1. Sear the ham steak in butter, about 4 tablespoons
  2. Chop the peppers and parsley, corse is okay
  3. Add the chicken stock to the ham along with the chopped veggies
  4. Add the parsley
  5. Finely chop about 3 tablespoons of fresh garlic and add to dish
  6. Salt and pepper to taste
  7. Let simmer for 20 minutes, covered.
  8. When ready to serve, add the juice of half a fresh lemon.

Forgot to add, that's LOTS of parsley, and not the flat-leafed, italian kind. Adds the green to the dish and as you all know, parsley doesn't have that much flavor. Mostly a garnish, but in this dish, it does add flavor because of the amount used.
