Ingredients

How to make it

  • In a large cook the ground beef with the garlic until no longer pink
  • Drain meat and return to pot
  • Add cabbage and bean sprouts and soy sauce
  • Cover and cook approx 20 minutes until cabbage is cooked through and volume is about 1/4
  • Drain mixture thoroughly
  • Heat oil in a separate pan on medium heat
  • Lay out egg roll wrappers one at a time on a clean plate
  • Place about 2 T. of cabbage mixture in the center
  • Fold one corner of the wrapper so that it lays over the mixture, fold the corners to the right and left toward one another and roll over to wrap.
  • Dab water on the remaining corner to seal.
  • Fry lumpias in batches until golden brown on each side, about 5 minutes per side

    I'd like to try this, but excuse my asking: 1 cup of soy sauce, really? I'm afraid it would turn out too salty. UPDATE: Mrswaltrip addressed this concern: "If you are worried the lumpias will be too salty you can go 3/4 cup on the soy sauce and add more after the cabbage and beans sprouts are done cooking down."
