How to make it

  • Wash and core halved pears -- DO NOT PEEL. Place in 6 small microwavable bowls. Sprinkle each pear lightly with Fruit fresh or lightly rub with lemon piece. This prevents the fruit from darkening. Cover loosely with plastic wrap.
  • Place in microwave and cook on level 8 or 9 (SAUTE) approximately 8 to 12 minutes (pears should still retain their shape and be cooked) drain and keep pears slightly warm. I leave them in the micro until serving time.
  • Place cream cheese and milk in small bowl and blend in mixer until smooth. Gradually add Amaretto to cheese/milk mix and blend. (Mix needs to be light and firm, not soupy.) Both the milk and Amaretto maybe adjusted to desired consistency. Refrigerate.
  • When you're ready to serve, add a generous dollop of the cream cheese mix to the tops of each pear, then sprinkle with grated nutmeg. Serve at once
