How to make it

  • 1)Place the 4 slices of bread on a prepared work surface. Spread 1 Tbs. of the Russian dressing on the bread slices. Place ¼ cup Sauerkraut on each slice on top of dressing.
  • 2)Divide Havarti with dill and Smoked brisket over the bread slices.
  • 3)Spread remaining Russian dressing over each of the remaining bread slices. Place on top of the meat and press.
  • 4)Melt margarine in a large heavy skillet over low heat. Add sandwiches and grill slowly, pressing down with a wide spatula. Grill until the bread is brown and crisp. Using the spatula,turn sandwiches ( add more margarine to pan as need ). Grill, pressing gently until brown and crisp. Remove to cutting board, cut in half and serve immediately.
