How to make it

  • Heat 1 cup water and 3/4 cup sugar to boiling,reduce heat and simmer uncovered for about 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat,sprinkle in coffee powder,stirring until dissolved,stir in 2 cups water.
  • Pour into ice cube trays.
  • Freeze until mushy in center,about 2 hours.
  • Stir mixture,freeze 1 hour,stirring after 30 minutes or so.
  • Stir again before serving.(should be broken into tiny ice crystals but should not be solid)
  • Beat whipping cream,2 tableapoons sugar and the cinnamon in a well chilled bowl until soft peaks form.
  • Alternate layers of whipped cream and Coffee Ice in chilled stemmed dessert dishes,beginning and ending with the whipped cream.
