Bankheads Quiche Lorraine

- 9" frozen deep dish pie shell shopping list
- 2.8 oz package real bacon bits (or 10 slices bacon cooked & crumbled) shopping list
- 1/4 cup chopped onion shopping list
- 8 oz shredded swiss cheese, divided shopping list
- 6 beaten eggs shopping list
- 1 cup fat free half & half shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- dash red pepper shopping list
- dash white pepepr shopping list
- 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg shopping list
How to make it
- Thaw pie shell for 15 minutes.
- Prick bottom and sides of shell with fork a few times.
- Bake directly on oven rack for 10 min. at temp. on the package.
- Saute onion (and bacon if using real) until browned and drain well.
- Sprinkle evenly in shell.
- Top with 1 cup cheese and set aside.
- Combine eggs, milk and spices, stirring well.
- Pour into shell and top with remaining cheese.
- Bake on cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 50 minutes until set.
- Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
