Sugar Glazed Salmon Recipe
SUGAR GLAZED SALMON This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Markie Estate in Sachse, Texas in 1982.

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1-1/3 pounds salmon fillet

Directions
  1. In a shallow baking pan combine olive oil, water, vinegar, garlic, garlic salt, pepper and basil.
  2. Place salmon filet in the marinade meat side down and marinate 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat and lightly oil grate.
  4. Coat salmon lightly with sugar then place on grill and cook 12 minutes per side.
  5. Baste with marinade periodically while cooking.
  6. Salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork.
