  that our local strawberry growers are plowing under their fields because they can't get the price they need to pick their fields. What a waste and it is shameful....the deep freeze, the sinkholes, no profit and hungry migrant workers. Truly a waste.
  
  I believe that hydroponic may be the wave of the future for some of the more tender and precious berries. Definitely easier to grow and less stress on the environment.
  
  That said......On our way to Zephyrhills to the drop zone, if I see a u-pick strawberry field, I'll try to stop and get some for momma's strawberry pie or chocolate covered strawberries for Easter Sunday.
