Hi! New Member....

Hi! I just joined GR 2 days ago, & now this Group. I'm already loving GR! I grew up on the tropical beaches of the world, & so of course I love seafood ~ particularly shrimp, scallops, lobster, crab, mussels & clams. I now live in the High desert of the Southwest, in the USA. Obviously, that means that the only seafood I now get is from the store! And since it is pricey, I have it infrequently (oh so sad about that). If I'm enjoying any seafood nowadays, it is most likely to be salmon filets. Sometimes I have shrimp, or some of my other favorites, but it certainly is not as frequently as I'd really, really like. Nonetheless, I am joining your Group, so I can be ready with many choices of great, tried & true recipes for those wonderful moments when I do have seafood. Eventually, I hope to add my recipe for a super simple grilled salmon - so simple, it is strange to call it a recipe, but since many do not think to prepare it in the way the Brazilians do, it IS a recipe. Also, I have just created a delicious crunchy coating for fried oysters which should appear soon. And then there is the Portuguese Pork & Clams dish that I have been working on for many years, trying to re-create the extraordinary marinade & sauce in which I delighted while living in Portugal. I'm a slow typer & new to recipe submitting, so it'll be a while, but soon I hope! So thanks for admitting someone who lives in the desert into your group! ~ "Sea" you around!

Mmm, it is wonderful. I hope you'll try grilling salmon the Brazilian way sometime. To me, my family & many, many Brazilians & Argentineans, this simplest of all recipes is the tastiest & most common method of preparation.

Are the recipes added to this group only those by members? Or also for any GR members recipes? I hope I didn't make a mistake by adding recipes for a Fish & Chips & a Shrimp Rissois, by "luisascatering"....Please tell me!

Also, pleclare, I'd love to participate in a Recipe Swap for this seafood group ~ it's a great way for the group members to both try members' recipes AND get their recipes tried! Do you plan to start a Swap, or do you want me to? Since there are 31 members, we could start with a list of one recipe from each group member (who have a seafood recipe, and are interested in both trying another group member's recipe AND in having their chosen recipe tried. After trying the recipe the participant chose, that participant only needs to let us know on this thread, & leave a review & rating with the recipe. Sound good? I could start a new thread here to get the word out, with this explanation. Let me know ASAP, please. This weekend I'm making shrimp & lobster, & could do it for the Swap....

    Thanks!
