  I like to buy the 3-pound box of pasta, when it's on sale, to get a better buy. But when I get it home, I dig out my postal scale, and measure out 2-ounce or 4-ounce packets of pasta. Macaronis can then be packaged in sandwich bags, and spaghetti can be wrapped in plastic wrap. A 2-ounce packet is a serving for one, and a 4-ounce packet for two. If I'm planning on company, I can simply use as many packets as I have guests.
