Adding "shine" to scones

    How do I make my scones have a shiny surface. I already top them with pecans and brown sugar but don't want to add any additional sweet glaze. I've tried milk, egg whites, before baking but nothin' seems to work --- unless my technique is wrong

    You might try brushing with butter before you add the pecans and sugar, then brush with butter again before baking. If this doesn't help, please go over your method of preparation. Happy baking!
