How to feel less hungry

  • meskarune 12 years ago
I feel like I'm starving ALL the time. (a combination of hormones and medicine) Some things that help me:

eat a cup of soup or salad before lunch and dinner, the liquid and fiber fills you up. Even a simple consume with green onion is great

    Drink lots of water

Eating protein helps, including snacks (beef jerky, wasabi peas, nuts, etc)

    Eating slowly

    Food with high "fullness factor":
    grapefruit
    orange
    watermelon
    carrots
    chicken breast
    steak
    apples
    oatmeal
    popcorn

Good suggestions! I grab approximately 12 walnuts and drink a glass of H20 with crushed ice and it helps me stop/ also make myself take a time out and look at old fat pictures/

Hello, Friends! One thing that I have learned is the importance of breakfast. I usually start my morning with an Atkins bar and a Dannon Light and Fit yogurt. I tried to eat or snack every couple of hours with low-cal, low-carb food. The more protein and nutrition, the better. I have a 6.4 a1c, have lost 34 pounds in a year, kept it off for 2 years, and not on insulin or oral meds. The one diet that I have found that works for me is a common sense diet. I eat to live instead of living to eat.
