Pesto

Im making Pesto with the rest of the basil from my garden and are looking for hints, I know the main ingredients that Id like to put in are pine nuts, basil, garlic, parm cheese, some olive oil, and a little salt. I like to experiment, and just wondering if anyone has anything else they like to add. Maybe a little sun dried tomatoes?

Sure.. Make a batch regular, and a batch w/ the sun dried tomatoes...sounds really good. Let me know.

I made different batches of basil and froze it on a parchement covered cookie sheet.
I dropped it with the Tablespoon on the sheet, froze it and stored & sealed them in jars with my Food Saver. Now I have losts of pesto waiting for my in the frezzer.
Sorry I stuck to my regular pesto recipe, but I'm sure if you google it you will find all kind of ideas.

You could try spinach, or mushroom, it's loaded with water and you don't need that much olive oil. roasted red peppers would be good too. Have fun.

I read a recipe that used half mint and half basil recently, don't know where. I'll bet, and might try half basil and sage, or parsley, or whatever. Experiment. Then write back.
