Am I stupid?

OK, I'm still trying to get with the program here. Do we add our own or other members recipes here? Accidentally found out today that we can do both? I'm having real problems staying connected to this website is this a regular thing for this site?

Sometimes connectivity is an issue with the site. There is not a support team, per say, that we contact about IT issues. The site moderator/creator maintains the site, but, has been unresponsive to emails for a while now.

As far as adding recipes to groups, here's the deal:

In a group like this one, that is not dedicated to a specific food or a specific cooking method, etc., it's fine to add recipes you want to add. And yes, you can add recipes of others.

In other groups, different protocols apply.
    SUCH AS:

Lip Smackin Limes - Here you would only add recipes that include lime, and you could include recipes of others

I Made It - This is a group that is dedicated to showing the reviews of recipes that we have made that were posted by other members. For Example, the other day I made a recipe posted by Wynnebaer. (Grilled Corn on the Cob with Lime Butter). After I made it, I went to the recipe page to review and rate. THEN, I posted it to the I Made It Group, and started a thread telling I had made it. This is helpful when you like to try lots of recipes, and you can see what someone else thought of it. I have made most of the recipes that I have posted, but, it's not up to me to post them there. That is ONLY for recipes we have made that were posted by OTHER members.

Our Daily Dinner is dedicated to discussing what we are having for dinner that day, and those recipes. The only time you would post another member's recipe there, would be if you were making it for dinner that day.

When you click on a group, there should be a description of what the group is dedicated to that will help you know what to post.

On posting other members' recipes, that's something that you might do when you are looking at a recipe that looks really good, say for Spinach Casserole, and you see that it hasn't been added to any groups (some members don't participate in groups) you could add it to one, or both, of the spinach groups for others to see, as long as you are a member of the group. The drop down will contain all the groups you are a member of on any member's recipe page while you are viewing their recipe.

Was that clear as mud? LOL Hope it helps, let me know if it doesn't!

Something else about adding recipes to groups....if you accidentally put one in the wrong group it's always appreciated if you leave a message either in the group or for the owner of the group so they can delete it out. Keep in mind only recipes on the first page can be deleted.

I was getting ready to leave for the day when I typed my answer to you, and, I also meant to thank you for bringing up that question! There is no FAQ page on the site, and lots of members, old and new, have the same question you did! Everything we've all learned has been by trial and error, so, don't ever feel "stupid" about asking a question! We are here to help eachother so we can all enjoy the stie! : @ )
