Cinnamon-Raisin Oatmeal

    This read-to-cook mixture of oats, fruit and spices can be make one bowl at a time.

    Sift together 1 1/2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats, 1 cup raisins or mixed dried fruit bits, 1/4 cup packed brown sugar, 1/2 teaspon ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

    In a medium saucepan bring 3 cups water to boiling. Slowly add oat mixture to water, add to your desire of thickness~ stirring constantly. Serve with milk if desired.

    Serves 4.


    For 1 serving:

    Use 3/4 cup water and 2/3 cup oat mixture. Cook, stirring constantly for 1 minute. Cover, remove from heat. Let stand 1 to 3 minutes or till of desired consistency. Serve with milk, if desired.
