    Chicken Tikka Masala by DonSpain

This is awesome!! It brought back soooo many memories of my travels in the UK. Whether in England, Wales or Scotland, I was able to order Tikka Masala from any Pub. I practically lived off of it while there-- sometimes I would order Vindaloo or Murgh Makhani (Butter Chicken) but Tikka was my favorite! It's just like Butter chicken except it's more tomato forward.
I actually made this recipe a couple weeks ago but was too hungry to take a photo! So I knew I had to make it again as it's so delicious! That time, I used 400ml of Passata sauce but the sauce here is very thin and comes in much larger bottles (650-680ml). So I looked up "Tomato Triturada" and it literally translates to Crushed Tomatoes--oh! Lol..so I used a 400ml tin of crushed tomatoes and it turned out even better this time! Much thicker and more tomato-y than the Passata.
I followed everything to the letter except I left out the red food dye and used lacto-free half and half for the cream.. Served it with rice and naan bread. Everyone loved it!
Don also has a similar dish that uses no cream, Dons Jalfrezi Style Chicken Curry, I've made that quite a few times as well. But I think my family is more partial to this Chicken Tikka Masala recipe! Thanks for the memories and the fantastic recipe Don!

Feel brilliant - absolutely delighted you and family loved it.
I`m very pleased with it myself and it does remind me of days of yore in Scotland.
BA also made it this week and was also very complimentary.
