Chocolaty Chocolate Chip Muffins

I liked that these use 1/2 whole wheat flour, so 1) you feel better eating them and 2) I was almost out of all purpose flour lol. I halved the recipe because I did not need 48 muffins. I liked them a lot but I think the spices could have been upped some, definitely double! Caiden said they could have been sweeter also, which I could see, if you got a bite without chocolate chips it was only slightly sweet, but I was fine with it :) Kids! Nice texture though and they puffed up nicely! Oh yeah, I filled my muffin cups to the brim, crossing my fingers they didn't overflow out of the pan lol, but they just rose straight up thank goodness. Got 20 muffins.

Oh my gosh, Mommyluvs, those muffins look picture perfect! How did you get them to rise so nicely? If I fill my muffin tins to the top, the batter spreads out instead of up :p

Thanks Bakerme! The picture on the recipe looked like they rose up, instead of spreading, so I just took my chances. Worked out well lol!

Good to know you can fill them to the brim without over flowing! :)

Did you use muffin papers to line the tins? Looking at your photo again, it looks like you didn't, so I wonder if that's the trick in getting them to rise so nicely??

No liners. I have no idea if that's why though!
