Cocoa Clusters

    Cocoa Clusters
Made for IMI2's February 2019 "Chocolate or Asian" challenge. Recipe made for the chocolate part.
My review: Who said chocolate isn't healthy? because this recipe certainly is! and it's delicious! I used raw cacao instead of cocoa. Raw cacao is more nutritious because it's not roasted like cocoa is. I used maple syrup instead of agave and probably used only about 1 tablespoon which was plenty sweet enough for my taste. I did manage to roll the clusters into balls (I chopped the walnuts) … will leave some plain and roll others in cacao before eating. Thanks Stormy for sharing such a wonderful recipe!

Raw cacao is an incredibly healthy ingredient, full of antioxidants so making this recipe was a no-brainer for me because I can eat my chocolate and not feel any guilt. The rest of the ingredients are all healthy too. Raw cacao taste like cocoa … maybe even better!

Health food store, some super markets carry it, I usually order it from the site I order my vitamins from.

Made them! Thanks LindaLMT for the inspiration! Keeper recipe. I am wishing I didn't give away all the cocoa I brought back from the Dominican Republic. I was thinking I could never use 7 bags of cocoa, but now I'm not so sure! ;) Nice photo Linda!

Those look wonderful Linda!! I love that you used Maple syrup too. I can see rolling these in all kinds of things, coconut and different ground nuts--I'd love to do hazelnuts or almonds--yum! :

I think you could also reduce the amount of sugar (honey in my case). I didn't because I was worried about them sticking together so I thought I would "follow" the recipe the first try. :)

I made for the 2019 Chocolate Recipe Challenge as well :)

So happy that Linda posted this healthy dessert recipe :) I also used maple syrup but I think it would be great with the agave or even some honey! I did not use a spoon to make the clusters but used my hands and tried to make them into a ball shape. My daughter had one as well and loved it. Delicious and none left!!
