Fried Green Tomatoes

These make a great side dish. I did not use milk i used a beaten egg.
I also used coconut oil rather then bacon grease, a bit healthier i think.
They were very tasty, and will make them again.
Made for the Sept recipe challenge Sept.10/2017

After seeing the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes" (LOVE it!), I tried making some and they were a disaster! These look pretty yummy, though, Manella, and I'm glad you liked them.

I should have mentioned that I did as another reviewer did with the coconut oil, and glad I did.
Bakerme, did you ever try to bake them instead of frying? It does work pretty good.

Manella, I didn't know you could bake them, but that will be something to try to save calories. Thanks! They look soooo good in the movie :)

Bakerme, if you do them in the oven put them on a cake rack that you place in a cookie sheet. They don't get soggy that way.
    I loved the 🎥 movie🙋🏻🙋🏻
