    **December Quick Bread Recipe Challenge**

This is a wonderful poppy seed loaf with a delicate orange flavor. Pouring the glaze over the top gives it a moist, gooey top. I have to confess that I accidentally used granulated sugar in the glaze instead of powdered sugar. With the exception of a few minor changes, this recipe is identical to another orange poppy seed bread that I make. That recipe calls for granulated sugar and I accidentally grabbed it out of habit. It didn’t hurt the recipe one bit and either one would be good. I didn’t think toasting the poppy seeds really made that much of a flavor difference. Just an extra step in my opinion. I also found the bake time to be off. At least it was in my case. It was done in 45 min. The nice thing about glaze is that it soaks in the bread and helps make it moist.

Diz, have you halved this recipe before? If so, does it work better with one egg or two?

Cosmicmother, I've always made two loaves. Sorry! Have you seen the similar recipe on AR? It calls for 1 and 1/8th cup of oil. I like the extra 2 Tbsp. of oil. I really didn't want to compare this one to another recipe because this one is good. However, I like my other recipe better.

Thanks Diz! I'll check out the AR recipe.
I have some clementine's that need to be used up, but I only have one glass loaf pan and one aluminum. But I prefer my glass one, lol. Maybe I'll do one loaf and a muffin tray ;)

Cosmicmother, here's the link to the AR recipe: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/232362/orange-almond-poppy-seed-bread/

I have a review and photo posted. The other photos show it being baked in a bundt pan, but I thought there was too much batter for a bundt pan so I used 2 loaf pans. You're more experienced with baking and might find a bundt pan will work fine. I have an actual round tube pan for making bread and Jell-O molds. I thought that might work better because it's larger.

Thanks for the link! Looking at it now and reading some reviews :)
I think I will try the Bundt pan, mine is a 12 cup Bundt pan so hopefully it will fit all the batter. I will make it tomorrow and tell you how it turns out. :)
