    **October 2018 Group Recipe Challenge--Oktoberfest**

    Comfort food on a gourmet level! Where is the spaetzle when you need it? This recipe doesn’t specify that it is German, but this simple and basic dish has always been known to me as a German dish. The sauce being served over plain pork chops or schnitzel. This would definitely rival the mushroom sauce at my favorite German restaurant. It caught my eye because it uses real cream, doesn’t call for a flour roux, and has a bit of wine for a gourmet touch. Used a Pinot Grigio. The sauce was watery which I did not anticipate. It was fine for me this time, but I think most would agree that it needs something additional to thicken it. I made as written, but would definitely add onions next time. All in all, I LOVED it! My old TNT Jaegerschnitzel sauce just went bye, bye!

    Used a thick cut, boneless pork chop.
