*Made for the November 2020 'Slow Cooker/Dutch Oven' Recipe Challenge*

So I was going through pot roast recipes and was intrigued by this one. It's different because you actually make a gravy/sauce in a pan and then add it to the slow cooker. It was totally delicious! Thickened up some, but not too much and I also added one turnip in, just cause I needed to use it :) No fresh thyme here, so I used dried but I did use the fresh rosemary. Yum!!!! It's not the greatest pic. but the family was ready to eat!

I actually made a review last night but I deleted it accidentally. Went to edit and the delete button is literally on top of the edit button. So frustrating and I've done it multiple times before!

I like your picture Michelle. The recipe looks good. I like the addition of tomato paste and that it doesn't use onion soup mix. Don't get me wrong, I love onion soup mix, just nice to see a recipe for pot roast that doesn't use it. You can't go wrong with a Chef John recipe.

Yum, looks delicious Michelle! My family is the same way, when they smell something good they want to eat right away! There has been a couple recipes I made recently that my family didn't let me get a photo of, that I'll have to remake soon...lol ;)
Yikes on the deleted post! I have only done that once I think... frustrating.
Did you use a bone-in roast? And did it take the full 5-6 hrs on high? It looks like a great recipe, those extra steps of sauteing and making the gravy first sounds nice. :)

A ton of recipes I looked at for pot roast had cream of soups and onion soup mix in it Linda, and I didn't want to use either, so I'm glad I found this one :)

I used two smaller boneless roasts Shona and it I probably checked it at about the 5 1/2 hour mark and it was done but we weren't ready to eat yet so I left it on warm for a couple more hours. I know in my picture it looks like one roast but the other one fell apart when I moved around everything so I hid it under the veggies lol.
