Steamed Broccoli With Olive Oil And Parmesan

    Yes, this is a very simple recipe, but I was curious about how this would turn out by steaming the broccoli first and then adding oil and S&P last. I kind of was expecting it to be oily and I do not like to salt food after it's cooked usually, so I did not have high hopes for this. Lol, it was so good! I was surprised :) Loved the parmesan and thought I was going to miss some lemon, because I LOVE lemon juice on my broccoli, but I didn't miss it. Will definitely be preparing it this way much more often!!

    I do a cheater version of this but I sauté it with onions and bell peppers (steam the broccoli in the microwave) then toss with olive oil, dried Italian herbs and top with Parm. My son especially loves it.
    I bet it's just as tasty this way, and much quicker and easier to make! ;)

    Shona, I am ALWAYS over cooking my broccoli when I steam them, I rarely get them out of the pot before they are mushy lol. I was so glad they were still nice and slightly crisp :) Your version sounds delicious!!
