    These are really good! The sweet 'n sour sauce is awesome. DH thinks it's better than our local Chinese restaurant. I made this recipe many years ago and as I recall, the meatballs were dry and bland. Due to dietary restrictions, I made some alterations that really improved the meatballs. I used half ground beef and half ground pork. Omitted the cracker crumbs since I can't have grain. Instead of milk, used heavy cream. Also added 1/2 tsp. each of garlic powder and ground black pepper. Since being grain free, I have discovered that you don't need cracker crumbs or bread crumbs as a binder.

    Thank you, Mommyluvs2cook! I don't think it's too hard to top our local Chinese restaurant. lol! The sauce is really good. I'd recommend doubling it if you want enough to serve over rice.
