Best Pepper Grinder

    I finally found it!

Took me long enough, especially after my last Cole and Mason (not a cheap one, either) broke. (Wasn't the mechanism, this time, but rather the unit itself; under life-time-warranty but not worth the hastle of dealing with it again.)
I use my pepper grinder CONSTANTLY and though I don't abuse them, I'm certainly not delicate & gentle with them either.
There were a lot of (recommended) ones to choose from -- most of which had pricetags equivalent to that of an entry-level car!
I ended up with a Unicorn Magnum -- as recommended by Cooks Illustrated -- and it is fabulous! No more carpel tunnel syndrom just trying to get enough pepper on - or in - my food! Effortless, practical, sure-grinding, adjustable grind, easily filled, large capacity -- everything they said, and more!
I ordered mine over the internet, direct from Unicorn's page, and it was here in a flash. Well packaged, excellent customer service! And, I didn't have to take out a second mortgage to buy it. No more Cole & Mason in MY Kitchen...

(Did I mention how easy it is to fill the grinder??)

The only regret is that I didn't order the Magnum Plus !

Thanks for this. If my grinder ever bites the dust, I'd love to find one that's easy to fill (mine is not, but it works so I can't justify getting a new one).

Cooks Illustrated is a wonderful resource for gadgets in the kitchen i must have missed that issue, however I like my Peugeot pepper mill the working parts are all metal. We will see in twenty years from now how it holds up with daily use....lol.
When it comes to pepper mills I like the larger ones so I will not have to reload as often.
