mole verde

I know some of us are not fans of premade sauces, but I want to try mole verde. How is i generally used. Is it a topping for cooked meat or is it used to stew in?

I've been using the mole poblano from Chonita either topping cooked chicken with it or simmering it mixed with tomato sauce. Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Hey Joe, I think (and this is just my opinion, now mind you) as with a lot of Mexican sauces, it's whatever you want to do with them. I think it would be good simmered with meat or as a topping. But then again, that's me. Sorry, not much help here. ;')

I tried it by cooking onions and garlic in some olive oil with salt and pepper. I then added some sliced chicken after it browned on one side I turned it and added some of the mole verde and let it simmer a few minutes to finish the chicken. It was awesome. The brand I used is from Dona Chonita. It is slightly spicy and full of flavor.

    Thanks for you input.
