How will you celebrate Canada Day?

  Hi Everyone, I thought I'd start a new thread and find out what everyone is doing to celebrate Canada Day next week. I'll start by telling you what we have planned. We don't have a cottage but we enjoy our back yard and I don't like to travel on long weekends if I don't have to. The city is nice and there is lots of stuff happening right here. We have a street party on Canada Day-this year will be the 16th year. Over the years it has grown and although some families move on new ones move in, children grow up and move away and then they come home and bring their children too. I just love it-we close off the street (sort of-it is usually a very quiet street anyway)and everyone brings a dessert and a salad to share and we provide our own meat. We also pool our money and buy fireworks for later at night. In the afternoon there is a bocce ball tournament and face painting for the kids. This year we will have about 25 family and friends join us.
