Hi, Everyone! It is almost 1:00 P.M. and no one on yet?
Just so everyone in here knows Janet had a post on FB yesterday that her Mom is being released from the hospital in FF and they will be bringing her home today and then she will wait until she can get into the assisted living place for seniors in Rainy River. I really hope her Mom doesn't change her mind after she gets home. Crossing everything that it all works out without any hassles. Then once she is settled in Janet and Jim can go home.

Very cool that your boss pays for your expensive dinners etc. I am so glad you landed this job.

Michelle, I hope everything is going smoothly. You have quite a lot on your plate. Breath you can do it!

What are you up to today, Linda.

How is AC doing today, Karen? I hope you daughter and GS are feeling much better today.

How did your physio go, Shona? Has the smoke settled down much?

Our cold plate dinner was a hit with Dennis he gave two thumbs up. We have leftover potato salad and pretty much everything except the deviled eggs a coleslaw. Maybe Den will have potato salad with his rib eye steak tonight instead of his normal oven fries? I will probably just have a repeat of last night's dinner to use up the leftovers. It rained again over night UGH! We keep breaking records! Enough already!

    Wishing everyone a great day!

    Hi there!

We finally got rain, about 3.4 inches. I saw Janet's post on FB. Hoping all goes well.

The cold plate was okay, cheese and crackers and egg salad wrapped in lettuce leaves. Neither of us was hungry for anything bigger.

I wondered where everyone was and almost started a thread, but then we checked the garden and the tomatoes have succumbed to ??? Probably hornworms. Wayne's buddy came and they are busy outside while I fix lunch. Made two rhubarb desserts, a pie and a sort-of cobbler. Was going to make biscuits and gravy but the oven was different temp than needed for the (tube) biscuits. So it is the last of the hot dogs. And likely will have biscuits and gravy tonight. Unless we grab a bite out after taking GS home with his Arby's classic beef sandwich.

    Good Afternoon.

Had to get up early today because I had a hair appointment at 9:00 so needed to be showered and out of the house by 8:30 and have the kids cleaned up and fed too. After I went and picked up DH, we went to the gym, then stopped to get something to eat, and after that stopped at the Italian Market and picked up stuff for dinner (lasagna and chix parm). There's enough there for two nights so my planned menu just went out the window. I also bought some raw organic chestnut honey, almond biscotti, a box of dry pasta because I can't find the shape I bought in the grocery store and I like it (Orecchiette), and some cooked up escarole with garlic and olives. I still need to go to the grocery store for fresh veggies and greens and will do that in a bit.

I'm am so craving a cold plate Joce! I'm just going to have to get what I want and have them during the week for lunch since when I plan them for two it doesn't work out. Sounds like your weather is like the weather here ... rain, rain, rain. The wooded area behind our house is filled with standing water because the retention ponds are full and the overflow is into the preserve (wooded area).

I'm glad you got rain Karen because you need it and it sounds like you got a nice amount. Bummer on something getting at your tomatoes. I spoke with my sister-in-law last night and she said a turtle has been taking bites out of her tomatoes. She lives in Tennessee.

Saw the movie "Truth" on cable yesterday and it was good. "Newsroom drama detailing the 2004 CBS 60 Minutes report investigating then-President George W. Bush's military service, and the subsequent firestorm of criticism that cost anchor Dan Rather and producer Mary Mapes their careers."

Another movie about how corrupt our government is and the favors and lies to cover things up.

I'm glad I was smart enough to realize that the chicken parm and lasagna that I bought at the Italian market was enough for two meals. I only made the chicken parm tonight and it was plenty. They ladle in extra sauce (smart on their part because you pay by the weight) but it was just enough to toss with some cooked pasta to round out the meal.
Tomorrow we will have the lasagna and a salad.
It's thundering away and I'm sure there will be some rain soon.

We have rain to the North but it is not reaching here. Tomorrow thru Sunday is supposed to b dry. Everyone is talking about the eclipse. I plan on staying home! Even tho Rolla is on the edge, people are going there to see whatever they can.

Your lasagna sounds good! We grabbed an Arby's sandwich after taking GS to swim.

A severe storm warning just was issued for the counties to the North. We could see the lightning in the distance, but it never reached this far.

    Have a good day.
