Friday's Frustrations

    Good Morning Everyone.
I hope this morning is not an indication of what the rest of the day will be like.

Yesterday I made some changes to my DirecTV service because they jacked up their prices again which are ridiculous and since I already receive one discount they won't give another. Today none of the tvs work.
I had one receiver, in a bedroom that we don't use, put on vacation mode so I won't pay that usage fee until I turn it back on when needed, and that seems to be the problem.
Serial numbers don't match for receiver locations and it's all screwed up. Tried to resolve the issues on the phone with a technician and didn't resolve much. Had to remove another tv to get the other 2 to work so long story short they are sending out a technician tomorrow to straighten everything out. FRUSTRATING!! considering none of it was my doing.

Will make meatloaf tonight with mashed or baked potatoes and what ever veggie I have that needs to be used first.

Hoping to go to the plant store today since I didn't get there yesterday.

    What's everyone else doing??

You lucked out with the snow Laurie. One friend in NJ got 5" and another in PA got 16" and another in NJ got 14". Have fun in Florida.

That's great you are working the fields already Karen. Did they finish so that Wayne could go with you to get GS?

Airports are fun to watch people in Janet. I would have said something to the woman who had her volume on her laptop too high. I figure if someone is rude enough to be that disturbing to everyone around them, including me, then I can be pleasantly rude back. Oh-No on the woman coughing up a lung. She too should have some decency and wear a mask. Anyhow ... hope you were able to sleep on the plane and that your flight was pleasant.

Agree on the laptop bimbo. Ugh.

Good you missed the blizzard Laurie. Had to retype this bec my iPhone subbed horses for blizzard.

Some days are just that way Linda.

DirectTV is a royal pain with technical people who either don’t speak English at all well or have a heavy accent or are in India or are too dumb to understand your question. I would drop it in a heartbeat but Dish is not much better. Plus we have to wait one or two weeks to get someone out.

Wayne is in Jefferson City. Daughter is going out of town so GS will stay over. With puppy. Wayne had finished the field so we went together to get GS. Unfortunately I have to drive the gray truck as he has the good one. Not that it is a clunker, but the amenities / accessories are nil. LOL! And the step on the dtiver’s side broke so climbing in can be quite fun. At least we don’t have to go anywhere after so I can drive him straight home.

Fed horses this morning. I retrieved a tarp from blowing around and stashed it in the barn, then had to walk around the back of the house and close and lock a shed door that the guys left open. Just finished a cup of much needed coffee and am going to get bed linens into drier so I can make the bed for GS. This entailed removing the jackets that were hanging in the porch, which the guys piled on top of the bed. Men

    Have a good day.

I looked into dropping DirecTV Karen but my other options are Xfinity or Dish and neither are any better. I hate playing the "how can you bring my bill back down after raising it" every few months. It's just irritating the way they continually put you between a rock and hard place. If it was just me here I would get rid of the tv period that's how disheartened I am with it all.

Not fun being on your own Karen when there are things to do but at least you will have GS for company. When will Wayne be back? Any idea what's for dinner? How long will GS stay?

Wayne should be home about the same time as I am. He will grab a bite on the way home. I will hunt for something when I get home. GS has pizza at the party, but I don’t care for the kind they get and am not really part of the group so will probably just take pictures fo send daughter. Very happy to eat later.

I think it would be better if it were just me...ha ha! GS requires reminding to walk dog, get ready, and the grandma-doesn’t-cater rule. He will be here for lunch but he can have peanut butter and jelly on toast or bagel. Which I had for breakfast! We have not been grocery shopping lately so don’t have all the stuff he gets from his mom. He will likely bring his own snacks. His food sensitivities make it hard to separate what he can not eat from what he doesn’t like.

Good afternoon and hello to all. Janet, been thinking about you and Jim reunited with your son all day!! So glad it's Friday. Been a busy week. Going out tomorrow evening for dinner with five girlfriends. Sooooo looking forward to that. A couple of which I haven't seen since first of December last year.

Making spaghetti for dinner tonight. Seemed like the easiest thing on hand. Will probably make hubs a salad to go with. Personally............I'm saladed out, lol! He's been eating a lot of it with a meal to help with his diet. Will make some garlic bread to go with if Cayce will be home, if not, no biggie. I'll just have the spaghetti alone. Hubs isn't eating much bread and won't want the garlic bread, especially eating pasta. Oh, and meant to answer you awhile back Janet, yes I did get some Ensure and was drinking at least one per day. I'm out now but it's on the grocery list for the weekend. It's helping!

Hope all enjoy the rest of Friday!

LOL Karen that GS is such high maintenance but I like your rules.

Spaghetti sounds great Kimmer. Are you making it in the instant pot?

I got to the plant store and am happy I did. All they have are native plants to Florida and the place was pretty big. Lots of stuff to choose from but needing shade loving my options were very limited. I went with a plant called a Coontie. Low maintenance, fills in the area under palms well, slow growing ... just what I want. It's nothing "special" to look at but I just want something that'll grow. I bought four of them because they will spread. Also bought a Wild Coffee plant and put that in the corner for that something different. Next I'll figure out what needs to come out in the front and go back for help again.

A quick post first as Benj says we'll be going through a mountain range (we're on the high speed rail) and I may lose connectivity. It is Sat. morning here in Taiwan. Had a great flight. Are headed towards Pingtung where Benjamin lives. It's a gorgeous day. I'm here!!!!! :)

Ugh @ Direct TV Linda. TV companies are THE worst!!! (tied with Internet providers) :) Our flight couldn't have been any better. EVA airlines is fantastic! The stewardesses are so efficient and professional. Everything is maintained, it's clean, the food is really good and the service is excellent. The plane wasn't full but there was a lot of people on it. We managed to get bins for our carryons right close by so that was good too. Watched two movies "Wonder" (Ah-mazing but I cried my face off) and the Shape of Water which was quite different but very good as well. Benj was there to meet us at the airport. Really glad to hear you had success at the plant store. Hurray!

Enjoy the day with your GS and the puppy Karen.

Have a great time with your girlfriends Kimmer. HOw fun! Glad the Ensure is working out.

I'm just beaming from ear to ear. Just so happy to be here. It's quite uplifting seeing grass and flowers and rice patties after leaving so much snow at home. Benj looks great. Sigh.....:)
