Super snowy Saturday!

Good Morning Everyone! Woke up to even MORE snow this morning. Argh. And our snow plow guy didn't come either. I guess he thinks perhaps it'll just melt on its own? I'll post a few pics here of what it looks like outside at the moment.

Jim and I are planning on taking a drive to the County Archives today to do a bit of family tree research. My girlfriend and her hubby have invited us over for dinner this evening. She'd entered a recipe in to "Farm Boy" and it got chosen so she won a $50 gift card which was fun. She was going to use it to buy ingredients to make us 'Duck a l'orange' this evening. However, she messaged me last night and said her nose had been running all day and she was hoping it was just allergies. I told her to let us know how she felt this morning. I truly do not want to go over for dinner and come home with a cold.

Called my Mom yesterday afternoon. The Home Care worker that the Senior's Liaison had arranged for Mom came out for her first visit yesterday. She did some dishes, swept the floors and then did some laundry. Mom tells me she has decided that she can do all of this on her own and she told the lady that she won't be needing her in the future. I'm just beside myself. I've been trying to convince her to get some help for three years now and she'd always pushed back. Then finally just recently she agreed to it and then poof she's back to her old self. How disappointing. She says she doesn't need help but she truly, truly does. Sigh.

Hope you managed to make reservations to eat out last night Kimmer. I love Meat lover's pizza as well.

How's your wrist this morning Bren? The ice is treacherous. Jim went out and fed my birds for me yesterday morning and he wiped out at the side of the house. It's glare ice underneath all that snow and it is not forgiving. Hope you're feeling much better.

How fun your GS was going to receive an award last night Karen.

Your chicken dinner last night sounded great Linda. Lucky raccoon! :) SO envy you the rosemary plant. It's going to be another two months before we can put things in the ground. Did you start your re-parging project yet?

    Wishing everyone a great day!

    Morning!
We had a thunderstorm yesterday. If GS had not gotten another migraine I would have kept him with us overnight but of course he did. She had given him s'more Hirl Scout cookies but didn't read the labels, grrr! He was down with a migraine and missed his swimming party fun and games. Irks me! So we won't take him with us but will pick him up on the way back. He can stay with us this evening and will return him to her work when she gets off.

Got to go. See you later.

It's much better today, thank you Janet. I fell flat on my back, Linda, but put my right hand out to brace myself. To add insult to injury the dog that I was with tried to "help" me and was licking my glasses.

Grrr on the snow!! The Weather channel says that we got 8cm but the radio said a foot. I am not a happy camper as it was starting to melt and look like spring. Beautiful Pic's!!

Good luck at the Archives, I hope you find lots of interesting tidbits. How cool that your friend entered and won. I don't blame you for not wanting to go for dinner if she has a cold especially as she's probably the one preparing the meal.

Such a shame that your mother is refusing the help offered. She probably doesn't want to give up her independence or rely on anyone.

Your GD must be very disappointed that he missed the swimming party, Karen.

    Good Afternoon Everyone.

Great pictures Janet. It's pretty but I'd be going nuts by now with all that snow. At least you are use to it and manage to get around just fine.
Nice that your friend won a gift card for her recipe. What recipe did she enter? I too hope she doesn't have a cold and push for you to come over. Another week or two would be better.
I can't believe you mom saying she doesn't need the Home Care worker after waiting so long to get one! Frustrating I'm sure as I know with DH refusing and giving me a hard time about help here.

Glad to hear you are better today Bren. That's cute though that the dog tried to help, you can't help but to love them all the more.

So sorry to hear your GS missed his party Karen. Is he able to start reading labels and helping with his food decisions yet?

DH really is focused on speech today and has been asking for my help all morning so I gave it to him. As long as he's not bitching and complaining and wants to work any therapy I'm happy to be there for him. He wants to use him computer too so I made a list of nouns that begin with A, nouns that begin with B, etc. He is able to see the letter, type in the word, hit enter and see the image. I can see he is making the connection to see the word in print and then the image, better too that he is typing it in himself.
Made chicken salad sandwiches for lunch with some of the leftover chicken from last night.
Tonight will either be fish (now that I'm stocked up) or grilled hamburger patties.
We will also go to the gym in about an hour and on the way home stop at the grocery store for some fresh items.
That's about it here. Have a great day everyone.

    Back again.

Glad your DH is making progress, Linda. Baby steps.

Bren, we got very little snow this year. Could have used some more. But you all can keep the ice in Canada if you want. LOL!

So sorry your mom decided she didn't need the help, Janet. You must be so frustrated.

GS is feeling okay....migraines are a fact of life with him but I am still disgusted he was give Girl Scout cookies before ready no the label. He has s 12 and should be reading labels, but his teenage brain has gone to mush...ha ha. Hoping he grows out of that soon. He is with us this evening.

We went to Campers World. Bought a GPS and ordered a camera for the back of the RV. I was driving home when the rain hit so hard you could barely see ahead. It hit so loud it woke Wayne. I pulled over and let the rain pass. It was supposed to clear but is raining hear now.

    Have a nice day.

Glad to hear you are having rain Karen, not fun to have had to drive in it though.

Made the steelhead trout for dinner and it was good. Looked a lot like salmon but without the salmon taste. I baked it (seasoned it and topped it with some pats of butter).
Even LD (the dog) liked it and he's particular when it comes to fish.

That's exactly how I cook trout, Linda. LOL @ LD liking it. Strangely, Joe likes salmon more than trout. I'm happy with either.

You must be relived that GS is feeling better, Karen. I would be more than happy to share the snow with you, lol. We've driven through rain storms like that and the best thing to do is pull over.
