Thursday's Thread Title

LOLOLOLOL! Good Morning Everyone! I amused myself with the thread title. LOL. Imagination in spades this morning or what? LOLOLOL.

It's cool this morning. Jim went and fetched me an electric blanket while I'm at the computer. :) The weather forecast says we're supposed to get rain for the next four days starting tomorrow so staining that last deck is going to have to wait until next week.

Both Jim and I have dental cleaning appointments this morning and then we need to run a couple of errands including Costco.

I think I'm going to make Quiche Lorraine for dinner this evening and I'm also going to brine a chicken for tomorrow night's dinner.

It's Bob Dylan's 77th birthday today. Found an old 1964 clip of him singing "The Times they are a changin".

    Have a great Thursday everybody!!!!

    Good Morning Everyone.

I was up much earlier than normal because I had to have Bella to the vet between 7 - 8:00 this morning. Hope she does well. They will call later when she is ready for pick up. When they get anesthesia they like to keep them and monitor them to make sure they are ok before sending them home. I almost fell over when they had me sign the estimate. I knew it would be expensive but it's almost $1000 for bloodwork, xrays under anesthesia, and an eye duct flush. LD knew something was up when I packed her up to go. I left him home and when I got back you think I was gone for a month he was so happy and excited to see me. Silly dog.

Cute thread title Janet! It works! LOL!
It's a little cool here too, only in the mid 70s and we might get rain later as well and a tropical storm may develop in the Gulf that will surely keep us wet. Good luck at the dentist and hope you find something fun at Costco. Waiting till next week to stain the last deck will give your back a much needed break.

Bummer Kimmer that your stylist is retiring. Hopefully he will pass his "trade" secret for coloring your hair to the next person. Will you use the same salon?

Time for a cold brew and maybe a nap later ...

Good Morning Linda. Oh goodness at the Vet estimate. I'll stop complaining about our car repair bill now. :) Hope Bella makes out great. Let us know what the Vet says when they get back all the results. What does LD think of Bella? Yum on a cold brew.

LD likes Bella. She's quiet and doesn't bother him, eat his food, or take any attention away from him so she's cool in his book of life.

Yes, it is a little chilly at the moment, Janet but it will warm up soon. Good luck with your dental appointments and errands today. I love Quiche and should put it on our menu soon.

HOLY! What a vet bill for Bella, Linda! Now I know why we don't have any pets anymore. I hope she is fine and her eye clears up soon. Cute about LD liking Bella.

Yesterday I drove to Carleton Place actually past it, to a lady' house who was giving Flag Stone away. I filled my trunk with quite a bit of it. Wow, you should have seen the house it was GORGEOUS! It is out in the country and built with all natural stone sitting on a lovely hill with a beautiful view. It was just built and they are doing lovely landscaping too. On my way home I went to Gemmil's Garden Center and bought 5 beautiful hanging planters. I knew I would find what I wanted there as they are a major nursery for many other garden centers and they have been there since I was a kid. Den loaded his wagon with the stones and I will empty it today. No idea what we are having for dinner yet.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

    Good title Janet!

Linda it is supposed to rain the next four days here but the rain never materialized yesterday so who knows!?

Wayne had a VA appt today so now we are heading for who knows what! Stopped at a Staples to get a blue cartridge for the printer so we can print in color if needed.

Joce, we seem to inherit strays who are adept at looking woeful. As far as owning or being owned by our critters, I guess I am somewhere in the middle between feeling no expense is too much and not wanting to hassle with it.

Wayne is back from getting the printer cartridge so we are off. See you later.

I've been in and out all day. First to take Bella to the vet, then out to the grocery store, then back out to pick Bella up, then to the pet store to pick up some hay.

Bella's appointment went well and only … yes only cost $630 (yikes!). Xrays look good, no indication of tooth root problems but they will be sent out for a second opinion. Blood work will be sent out as well being it's a more comprehensive work up. Eyes were flushed and all seems to be in good order so Doctor did not flush the tear duct which is a more invasive procedure. For now she is on her eye drops (an antibiotic and an anti inflammation). Just one of those things I guess now that she is getting older. I'm glad nothing serious is going on and glad things are ruled out. She is home resting and her eye has been dry since Tuesday.
I ran out to pick up some small bags of hay from PetSmart. The cuts of hay she has here (one I just ordered too) came in too course and she is being picky about it but I gotta get her consuming more hay while waiting for another order, hopefully softer, to be delivered.

It poured rain my last trip out and it wasn't fun. It rains so hard that spots in the streets temporarily flood making it hazardous to drive.

Will roast a small pork tenderloin for dinner with some sides.

Enjoy your venture out Karen. Are dinner plans going to be out or in tonight?

Hi Joce! You had a fun jaunt yesterday. Nice on the free flagstone! I was at Gemmill's years ago. They used to sell our Hardware store annuals and such for a couple of seasons. My girlfriend in Perth shops there alllll the time. As you say, it is well known in these parts. :) Bet your baskets are gorgeous.

Sorry Karen, what's a VA appointment?

Yay for Bella making out so well at her appointment Linda! And yay on the bill being lower than the estimate as well. She deserves to be picky because she had to go to the Vet. LOLOL. Oh dear on the flooding impairing driving. :(

We just got home. Cleaning appointments went well and then we went to Costco. We've been wanting to shop around for a dehumidifier and voila....they had one that ticked all our boxes when we walked in, so in our cart it went. From Costco we went to the little Deli that we like and bought two sandwiches for lunch as well as a chunk of double smoked sausage. Jim got his haircut and I wandered around the Garden Centre at Walmart but didn't see anything interesting. Then to Princess Auto where we bought a big tarp to put over the garden in the fall so we don't have to weed it come spring. Sobey's for some groceries, library, home. Phew.

Picked up a hot pepper plant and a parsley plant at Sobey's so am going to go plant those in my clay strawberry pot along with some basil in my kitchen garden. It's gorgeous out now so we changed our dinner plans. Will push quiche 'til tomorrow. Bought a chunk of steak that I cubed up and we'll have shishkebobs on the grill tonight instead.

Good evening and hello to all. Sounds like everyone had a busy day. So glad to hear Bella is doing well and at least the bill wasn't as much as the original estimate. No rain here yet but there is thunder off in the distance. Suppose to be a very wet and stormy holiday weekend. I am suppose to go to lunch with a girlfriend Saturday. This has been planned for a few weeks not but kind of expecting her to cancel if the major rains come around that time. She will not drive in those kinds of conditions and quite honestly.......I would prefer not myself even though the restaurant we are going to is not that far from either of us. We will see.

Well, as I said earlier in the week (or weekend??), since we went out on Tuesday for the wine tasting event we will be having my cheese night tonight. Boys have a softball playoff tournament that they have been trying to do for two weeks now. Each Thursday though, they have gotten rained out. Either raining at the game time or rained too much earlier in the day and the fields were too wet. Hopefully they get it all in tonight.

Not much else going on around here. Hope all enjoy their evening and Sleep Sweet All..............as always......................

    Oh!!!! Thanks Karen. :)

Will cross my fingers for you Kimmer that the rain isn't as bad Saturday as predicted and that you and your GF get to have your lunch date. Cheese Night on a Thursday?????? LOL. Any night would be A-Okay for me. Hope the boys get their game in.
