Hello all of you Paella enthusiasts, beginners and experts alike. I'm Drake, I started this group because I love paella. I'll be posting recipes and photos; I'll be making a lot of paella out doors this summer. I have been cooking Paella for almost 30 years. I learned in Valencia Spain, from common Spaniards. I learned techniques from many different people and what I make is what impressed me as the best ones along with a few techniques of my own from experience. So, post a note, introduce yourself and say HI. It's going to be a great year for Paella and enjoying time with friend and family!

Hi Drake, My name is Betty and I live in Redondo Beach, CA and my 16 yo daughter's Spanich teacher gave them an assignment to go have dinner at a real Spanish restaurant. We ended finding one in Long Beach, CA where I first tasted Paella! It was so delicious and looks very complicated to make. I hope to try your recipes soon! Make it simple but deeellllliiiicccciiiiioooouuusssss!

Hi Betty. That school assignment is awesome. I can think of worse homework. I'll get a basic recipe posted sometime next month. Making Paella is a lot more about technique than it is ingredients. There are things you must do and things you never do but it is a wide open field as far as ingredients go. If you have a garden area I hope that you are planting because fresh is really where it's at with Paella. I hope to maybe make some video this summer etc. Here is a link if you want to get supplies for making paella. It is well worth your investment. http://www.tienda.com/paella/index.html Thanks for posting, invite your friends and make some Paella this summer! ~drake
