shortening vs margarine

    this recipe calls for 3/4 cup of shortening. I don't have any shortening but i do have margarine. how much do I use?

Any time you are using solids ~ shortening, butter, lard ~ and need to substitute, use the exact same amount, EXCEPT for margarine. Margarine won't even melt correctly much less incorporate properly into your recipes. Try it ~ experiment.
