Jalapeño-white Cheddar Cheese Waves Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp ground red pepper
  • 1/3 c finely sliced pickled jalapeño peppers
  • 1/2 lb sharp white Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 3/4 c butter, softened
  • 2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Beat butter at medium speed with a heavy-duty stand mixer until fluffy.
  • Step #2 Gradually add flour, salt, & red pepper, beating just until mixd.
  • Step #3 Stir in cheese & jalapeño peppers.
  • Step #4 Use a cookie press fitted with a bar-shaped disk to shape mixture into long ribbons, following manufacturer's instructions, on parchment paper-lined baking sheets.
  • Step #5 Cut ribbons into 2-inch pieces.
  • Step #6 Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 mins or until lightly browned.
  • Step #7 Remove to wire racks to cool.
  • Step #8 Jalapeño-White Cheddar Cheese Wafers: Combine ingredients as directed.
  • Step #9 Roll dough into 3 (9-inch-long) logs.
  • Step #10 Wrap each log in plastic wrap, & chill 2 hrs.
  • Step #11 Cut each log into 1/4-inch-thick slices, & place on parchment paper-lined baking sheets.
  • Step #12 Bake at 350° for 12 mins or until lightly browned.
