Ingredients
  • 1 lb 80/20 ground beef
  • 2 oz Jimmy Dean Hot Sausage (DC Special Ingredient)
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp McCormick's Italian Seasoning
  • 4 tbsp Barbecue Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp fine ground black pepper
  • Potato Rolls
  • Leaf Lettuce
  • Sliced, Ripe Tomatoes
  • Sliced Raw Onions
  • American Cheese
  • Pepper Jack Cheese
  • Mayonaise, Ketchup, Mustard

Directions
  1. Mix the sausage and onions into the ground beef, distributing evenly.
  2. Add Italian seasoning, barbeque sauce, salt and fresh ground pepper.
  3. Form the burgers.
  4. Place on a grill preheated to 375 degrees F. Grill on one side until you can see the juice begin to run at the surface. Flip over and grill on the other side, again until you can see some juice coming through the top.
  5. Grill the buns on remaining grill surface, using indirect heat.
  6. Serve burgers with lettuce, tomatoes, more raw onions, mayo/ketchup/mustard.
  7. Tips
  8. Don't overcook the burgers. It only takes a few minutes to get them to medium-rare / medium
  9. then place on hamburger buns and eat until your heart contents
