How to make it

  • Over medium heat. In a very large and heavy saucepan combine sugar and syrup. Bring to a boil just until sugar dissolves. Stirring constantly. Cook without stirring until it reaches hard crack stage or 305 degrees on candy thermometer, remove from heat, stir in soda. Working quickly, spread mixture in a 9×18" pan. Allow to cool. Break into pieces. Dip in Chocolate that has been melted if desired. Let the Chocolate harden. Enjoy. This is good with or without the chocolate.
  • DO NOT try to make this on a cloudy day. It will not work
