How to make it

  • Pour bourbon over raisins,set aside.
  • Mix sugar and water in pan,bring to boil.
  • Add chocolate,stir until melted,remove from heat,but,keep warm.
  • In bowl,beat butter and egg yolks,one at a time,until light and fluffly.
  • With mixer still running,add half of the chocolate mixture,then half of the almonds,repeat.
  • Add the bourbon soaked raisins,beat in flour.
  • Beat egg whites until stiff,fold into batter.
  • Turn into a 9" buttered and floured springform pan.
  • Bake in a 375 degree overn for 30 minutes (or) until top is firm.
  • Cool,about 5 minutes,turn out onto cake plate,dust with powdered sugar.
  • Slice thin,serve with bourbon flavored whipped cream.
