How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 400.
  • Simmer the raisins and 1 c. of the water for about five or ten minutes, until the raisins are nice and plump.
  • Mix the brown sugar, cornstarch (or flour), spices, and salt, and gradually beat in the rest of the water. Add to the raisins in the saucepan and continue cooking until it's nice and bubbly. Add the vinegar and butter, and stir until the butter melts and everything is combined. Cool.
  • Pour into the crust, top with pastry, crimp tightly all the way around, and cut several slits in the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until nice and brown.
