How to make it

  • In a large bowl, beat butter, sugar and brown sugar until fluffy
  • Beat in egg, peanut butter,baking soda, salt and vanilla
  • Add flour and oats; mix well
  • Spread batter in a lightly greased 9-inch square microwave-safe baking dish
  • Microwave on high until top appears dry and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 6-8 minutes
  • Sprinkle with chocolate chips, microwave on high just until chocolate is shiny and soft, about 1 to 2 minutes
  • With a spatula spread chocolate over surface
  • Let cool completely, then cut into bars
