Sunnies Apple Blackberry Crisp Recipe
I combined a few recipies for this dish. I like the tartness of the appless and sweetness of the blackberries. Let me know what you think.

  • 6 cooking apples (such as granny smith) - peeled, cored, and sliced 1/2 inch thick
  • 1 pint fresh blackberries, rinsed and drained
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon, divided
  • 1/4 cup butter, cut into pieces

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Place apples, blackberries, lemon juice, brown sugar, nutmeg and cornstarch in bowl and toss to mix. Place mixture in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, mix melted butter, flour, sugar, oats, and 1 tablespoon cinnamon to form a crumbly mixture. Sprinkle over apples. Dot with remaining 1/4 cup butter, and sprinkle with remaining 1 tablespoon cinnamon.
  4. Bake 45 minutes in the preheated oven, until lightly browned and apples are tender. Serve with vanilla ice cream. Yum!
