How to make it

  • Butter a 9"x13" pan (note: do not use marg. or spray); set aside
  • Place chocolate bits and marshmallow creme in a large heat-proof bowl, set aside
  • Combine first three ingredients in heavy, 3 quart saucepan
  • Bring to a full, rolling boil for six minutes, stirring constantly to prevent scorching. Scrape the sides of the saucepan to prevent the mixture from becoming grainy on sides.
  • After six minutes, remove from heat and pour over chocolate and marshmallows; mix until combined; add nuts
  • Beat mixture by hand . until glossy - this can take up to five minutes
  • Pour into buttered pan.
  • Let stand several hours before cutting
  • Store in cool place
  • Note: if you do not beat the fudge until glossy, it will become grainy after it is cool. Beating is definitely worth the effort!
