Chocolate Fudge for a Crowd

- 4 1/2 cups white granulated sugar shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups dairy half and half shopping list
- 1/4 cup (1/2) stick salted butter shopping list
- 12 ounce package semi-sweet chocolate pieces shopping list
- 4 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate, chopped shopping list
- 1 jar (7 oz.) marshmallow cream shopping list
- 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans shopping list
How to make it
- Butter a 9"x13" pan (note: do not use marg. or spray); set aside
- Place chocolate bits and marshmallow creme in a large heat-proof bowl, set aside
- Combine first three ingredients in heavy, 3 quart saucepan
- Bring to a full, rolling boil for six minutes, stirring constantly to prevent scorching. Scrape the sides of the saucepan to prevent the mixture from becoming grainy on sides.
- After six minutes, remove from heat and pour over chocolate and marshmallows; mix until combined; add nuts
- Beat mixture by hand . until glossy - this can take up to five minutes
- Pour into buttered pan.
- Let stand several hours before cutting
- Store in cool place
- Note: if you do not beat the fudge until glossy, it will become grainy after it is cool. Beating is definitely worth the effort!
