How to make it

  • Add butter to a large sauté pan and melt.
  • Add plums, sugar, ground cinnamon and lemon juice then cook over medium heat 15 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and cool.
  • Roll biscuits out on lightly floured surface so that each biscuit forms a circle.
  • Place 3 tablespoons of the filling on 1/2 of each circle then brush edges of circle with water.
  • Fold circle over filling to make a half moon shape then seal by pressing edges with tines of fork.
  • Heat fryer half filled with oil to 350 then carefully add pies 1 at a time and fry until brown.
  • Turn pies often for even browning then drain on paper towels and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
