Pops Ginger Beer

- TO MAKE BUG, shopping list
- In a preserving jar put shopping list
- 8 sultanas, juice of 2 lemons, 1tsp lemon pulp, 4tsp sugar, 2tsp ginger.. shopping list
- leave in a warm place for 2 or 3 days to ferment, (best done in summer as in winter it takes too long for the bug to ferment) if bug is not fermenting add a few grains of yeast to give it a kick start. shopping list
- At this stage add 2 cups of water and for the next 7 days feed the bug daily with shopping list
- 4 tsp sugar and 2 tsp ginger. shopping list
How to make it
- TO MAKE THE GINGER BEER.
- In a large preserving pan put 800gms sugar and 1 litre of boiling water, stir till all sugar is dissolved.
- Add the juice of 4 lemons,
- Add the ginger beer bug squeezing it through 2 layers of muslin.
- Add 7.5 litres of cold water and stir well.
- Pour into 1.5ltr bottles,
- Store in a warm place for at least a week before drinking,
- CHILL FOR SEVERAL HOURS BEFORE OPENING, BE CAREFUL !
