Saucepan Brownies

Note: these are kind of flat but delicious fudgy brownies. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream . I like these for the ease of preparation - made in the pan and baked in the oven, and kids love them
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips shopping list
- 1 stick butter or margarine shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 3/4 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1 cup flour shopping list
- 1/2 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla shopping list
- some chopped nuts ( optional ) shopping list
- vanilla ice cream shopping list
How to make it
- In a saucepan over lowest heat melt the chocolate and butter until melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat.
- Mixture should be warm.
- Beat in the eggs and then the sugars.
- Combine flour and baking powder and beat into mixture to blend.
- Stir in some nuts if using.
- Place mixture into a greased 9 inch square pan.
- Bake in a 350F oven until center tests almost done ( wet crumbs okay ) about 25 to 30 minutes.
- Cool to warm, cut in pan and cool completely.
- Chill well and cut.
